Description Still largely a work in progress, but I figured I had to post -something- to make up for the crappy submissions as of late.

Been feeling like the epitome of dirt, lately... Decided to go 'f*ck everyone' and do something for me today. *sigh* More description to come with the full version.

Wholy experimental and first time trying this colouring technique. It looks way better grayscaled than in colour. orz. Laying a -potential- colour scheme down for the bra... Any suggestions on who to attack the clothing and hair, as I obviously don't want the same texture as I used for the skin? XD

Trying to edit the hands and feet right now. Yes, there's two feet there, that's why it looks so weird. xD;

Damn you Canto, stop stealing me comments.

I love the skin, and I would love to know the technique.

I can't wait to see the finised version n_____n

That is some nice skin. -nod nod- I like the technique your using for it, it makes the colors look much more natural and alive. Are you still going to finish it?

I'm really intrigued by this, plus I plan on applying to University next year for graphic art. Can you give me any tips for achieving a look such as this one?

Eep, I honestly never saw this comment. I am so sorry, dear.

The only thing I can honestly recommend without feeling arrogant because I'm just as blind and naive in this as anyone is, don't be afraid to experiment, practice, repeat. Having a palette can help loads, too. I like to start off the body with unnatural colours, personally. Stuff we don't see, but still occurs in the flesh. Like purples for toning, yellows for highlights, pink for flush, etc. Throw in a splash of the skin tone you're hoping for as an end result, blend blend blend. :3 Sampling colours with the eye dropper tool (most colouring programs have them <3 but I can't be quoted as knowing if they all do) is pretty crucial for blending. XD

One day when I'm more qualified and less lazy, I'd love to make a coherent tutorial. XD

If you're afraid to play with the rainbow, then a palette still helps! Always try to start with mid-range flesh, then add shadow and highlights where necessary, going a bit lighter or darker each time.

For achieving this specifically, I used a slew of photo refs (and sites like gettyimages or posemaniacs can be huge eye openers, check them out!) and then I scribbled out a basic flesh palette of midtone, shadow, deeper shadow, and the reverse with highlights. I was too lazy to play with colours for it, but I normally do when I CG, haha. Then I just used your standard brush, lowered it's opacity, sampled, and blended.

I don't know if any of that made sense, but feel free to ask me to clarify. XD: I apologize profusely for never seeing your comment.

Oh, it's quite alright.

And I do understand what you're saying about playing with colours and everything else. I'll give that a shot on saturday, once all of my exams and assignments are over with and I'll have about a week between semester one and two to enjoy myself and have some free time to experiment with art and photography again.
