I'm pretty sure they're pants, since underwear in the Avatar universe seems to consist mostly of loincloths and bandage wrappings (at least, that we've seen from the show). But do bloomers exist in that world...? It's a good question. I'm not sure I want the answer, but a good question nonetheless!

Well, a person like Sneers needs an intellectual peer that's willing to actually talk to him - I've always been under the impression that Longshot was just as knowledgable (wtf spellcheck, if all my variations on that word are wrong then how is it spelled?), but the whole not-speaky thing kind of puts a damper on any intellectual debates they might have. Plus, Skillet is, you know, a girl. That's one other thing she got that Longshot don't
