The Freedom Fighters are, at best, a pack of thieves and killers who hid their dirty deeds behind the excuse of hatred. Lets not go over the top with the worship because they have a nicely-worded titles.

You're right, they did nearly wipe out a town, but you must remember they were a band of orphaned kids who had to survive and with no adult supervision besides Jet, and he was the one with the hate issue. The Duke knew it was wrong to blow the dam. And as Bee and Longshot revealed, what they really wanted was to start anew instead of seeking out revenge. Then Jet was 'killed' helping the Avatar, who I believe ultimately forgave him.
Also, this story is set after 10 years of peace where all nations have been working to mend what was destroyed by the war. Actually, what you're talking about is going to be addressed in the conference, so if you'd like answers, then stick around for the next chapter. Most everyone in the comic doesn't like the FreedomFighters either! But I chose to write a comic about them because they're a dynamic group of characters with wrongs to right and pasts to overcome.
