(Here, my comment about thatching would be less relevant because the fogs would keep it damper, and also because it's the most common available building material in swamplands.)

Beautiful lighting, especially on the buildings.
I also really like what's going on in the foreground, it adds an interesting dynamic of movement and action.
Other than the trees in the background, did you use any other photo manipulation on the image?

Thanks! Most of it is a combination of techniques. I used a 3d render, lots of photos and a bit of digital painting here and there.
