Description
6 flashes to light the place :2 for the background
1 above
1 (the most powerful) on the right at the same heigh
1 far on the left
1 far on the right (both to light the entrance of the nest)
The long exposure was needed to use the full moon. It gave some more background textures.

Wait 6 flashes? How did you get all that equipment into forest? If that's a wild owl which I think it is. And how did the owl react to all those flashes? Just curious because this is just so new to me.

Hello
Thanks for your comment. They are wild ones yeah, but barn owl is not a specie that nest in forest area This one nested in a tree close to the speedway so it was easy to carry the equipment
I just hope that they wont get hit by a car one day... but I doubt it won't happen one day.
Most of the birds do not care about photographic equipment or anything that is human made. Take the home made bird nests for example... as long as it does not have 2 legs, one head and 2 arms, they accept it fairly easily as long as you take care not to be too disturbing. Sometimes, birds uses my equipment as a landing area.
They are not affraid of the flashlight too, the worse I have seen was that the bird didn't expected it and had to make another arrival for the begining of the first session. It is easy to observe as the adult come with the same prey twice within minutes. I dropped the power of the flashes to the minimum... it was like a lightning I was not far from the area with my night vision binocular to make sure it was all fine.

These things are something they should really make a documentary out of. That's some really interesting stuff! I never thought birds were so undisturbed by human made stuff. Thanks!
