Hey...this turned out wonderful...I get to see your work after long periods of time and I think you are getting better and better.
I wanted to ask...do you use mainly graphite pencils and do you have shine problems and is it that big of a deal to you or not.
The reason I ask is I have always used charcoal for darks...its a personal thing...shine drives me crazy but the ability to get more subtle graduations with graphite I miss.
When I start drawing again...I think I am at a point where I have to much contrast and not subtle enough grads to make that step to another level of realism.
I hope this made some sort of sense...keep drawing...I enjoy seeing your work...Jeff

I use only graphite pencils. I had the problem with shine, until I started using higher grade paper. Strathmore 400 or 500 works pretty well.

Thanks...some paper is better than others...h's seem to shine more...I don't know why it drives me nuts...oil paintings are varnished to make them shine even more...something I have to get over...lol
