Description
So after playing far too much 'Arkham City', I decided to come up with ideas for how I would have things if I was put in charge of a new Batman cartoon.Coincidentally is doing the same thing, and it has only emboldened me further. Check his ideas out as well, they're really something.
I started out with two of my favorite villains that I feel have taken a bit of a back seat in recent years. Riddler and Penguin would be the main antagonists for the early part of the series.
Riddler as I envision him, would be a terrorist, who's true identity would be unknown to the public, the police, and Batman. He would be #1 on GCPD's most wanted list. Whenever the GCPD receive a green envelope, they immediately spring into action, knowing that they only have roughly 24 hours to decipher the riddle enclosed before something bows up or someone dies. What ensues is usually a scavenger hunt to get to the next part of the puzzle. The end of the line always ends in the police speaking to Riddler via video screen, at which time he makes his demands, which are always different.
Brief Bio: Riddler's alter ego, Edward Nashton, would be a newspaper journalist for the Gotham Times. He designs the crossword puzzles and has a small opinion column buried in the back pages of the paper. His pen name is Edward Nigma. Edward secretly pines for his much more successful colleague, Vicky Vale, who rarely takes notice of him. No one would ever suspect the quiet and polite Edward Nashton of being the arrogant and ostentatious Riddler, not even Batman, it's the perfect cover.
Penguin would not the a squawking bank robber in my universe. For this series, Oswald Cobblepot would be a respectable philanthropist and owner of the popular 'Iceberg Lounge night club with not so much as a parking ticket... at least to the public. Behind the scenes he'd be the ruthless king of Gotham City's underworld. Everyone from Salvatore Maroni to Carmine Falcone reports to him and anyone who dares cross him is chum for the sharks.
Brief Bio: Having come up from the streets of Gotham, Oswald Cobblepot rose through the ranks of the mob through deception and bloodshed. His short stature is nothing to laugh at as anyone who dares to, ends up floating down the river. Acquiring the spot for his now famous 'Iceberg Lounge' is an interesting story. Years ago, Cobblepot had been locked in a bidding war for the property with Thomas Wayne. Wayne wanted to turn the spot into a center for disease research, but Cobblepot had other plans. In order to secure the property, Cobblepot had panned to have Wayne murdered, however fate dealt in his favor and Thomas was killed alongside his wife in an unrelated mugging, allowing Cobblebot to collect the spot guilt free. The GCPD have been wanting to nab Oswald for years, but never had enough evidence to convict him of anything. A police raid on his club resulted in Cobblepot being hit in the eye with a piece of shrapnel from a smoke grenade. This only granted further sympathy and further immunity from the GCPD. Around the station, the cops refer to Cobblepot as The Penguin.

I really like the direction you're taking them in. Especially the Riddler.

Thanks. Not sure if I'll get to the other ones now. Sort of had these going when Arkham City came out. Probably will do them though, since DKR is coming out.

I actually haven't been keeping up with it. Personally I doubt it will last too long, comics are fickle like that.

dude awesome! I'm writing a reboot too. It's being developed!
ed becomes a Entrepreneur, a jack of all trades when it comes technology and chemicals.
He truly showed his geniuses around new technology of video games, computer data and horrifying weapons of war. His partner Mockridge was introduce Professor Woodrue and his assistant/wife Pamela Lillian Isley from the college to use their knowledge on biology. Instantly eddie felt an attraction towards pamela; Pam tries to deny his advances and his ego but not too long she also felt quite smitten for intelligence and gentlemen-like quality. Between those two a romance blossom but sadly, Mockridge and Woodrue would end up betraying their partners for their own gain.
Eddie during his travels knows how to fight, mix martial art but he also is a pro when it comes to handly swords!

A valid question. You see whereas the Penguin wants to blend in as an upstanding businessman, the Riddler wants to be noticed. He's quiet and keeps to himself as Edward Nashton, but as the Riddler he chooses to behave exta abrasively so's to reflect his inner madness and desire to have everyone know how smart he is. I was really going for a Frank Gorshin vibe.
