As we near the release of Gostbusters Afterlife, I couldn't help but revist my favorite incarnation. Extreme Ghostbusters scared the hell out of me as a kid. I've been rewatching the episodes on YouTube. Gotta say for a "kids" show they certainly did a great job with tone and atmosphere. Like in the scene I'm paying homage to here. When Achira attacks Kylie the scene is bathed in the flashing red light of the ghost becon. Then it pans to the outside of her loft where the screaming abruptly STOPS. Then it cuts to commercial. So you (as a kid) don't know what happens.
Really a great series and I can't reccomend it enough.
Its also a great point to people who like to say it was sexist men who killed the reboot. Kylie is a great example of a girl Ghostbuster. She had edge, she was fun, and she's even better in the comics.
Are you looking forward to the new movie? Should I do the comic version next?
