This is Kimiko Allard. She's half-Japanese, half-French — and half horse, and half human. 😁

The little horseshoe necklace was a gift she inherited from her great-grandmother, and it has the rather unusual side effect of turning her into a centaur, which she rather enjoys. After she finishes college, she plans to move to somewhere remote in the French countryside — and then never take the necklace off again. She doesn't know why it transforms her, but really, she doesn't care why and just likes that it does. 😊

In the meanwhile, long walks in the fields in the early mornings near her house are her favorite time of day — even if she has to quickly change back before anyone sees her.

A true 2023 drawing! I started Kimiko's lineart on January 1, and I've been slowly working on coloring her ever since. Some parts of the background were done with AI's help; I drew a few roughs of the trees and clouds and grain field, just enough to get the colors and shapes right, and then rendered about a hundred versions of it, and then smushed together the pieces I liked. Everything else, both the pretty girl and the field of grain, is entirely hand-drawn, as usual, with a mouse in CorelDRAW. Part of this was an active attempt to draw a close-up image with a lot more detail in it, and if you look closely, you can even pick out some beauty marks on her cheek.

Her look was loosely inspired by a couple of AI-rendered girls I saw rendered in someone's account on Pixiv. I liked the notion of the braid on one of them, and the shape of the button-down shirt on another, and I just had to draw something sorta like those two, so that's how Kimiko first began. Also I tend too often to draw exclusively European ethnicities, so for something different, here's a girl who's got some Asian in her, and you can hopefully see it in her eyes.
