I love it. It sort of reminds me of Two-Face as well as Erik. Very well done.

Y'know, when you have about like 55% percent of the flesh on your face missing, you can get easily infected or something like that.

Okay. I'm about to make a comment that I normally wouldn't say.
This is sik.
The good kind. I don't say 'sik'. But this...?

Thanks! We've been trying to find links to the originals so that people can leave their comemnts and faves on teh artist's page, but I haven't found this one's creator yet. Very bad of the former Moderators to not offer a link

beautiful as it is. The mask is on the wrong side. He wears it on the RIGHT side of his face (pun intended)

This is a great pic. I think you did a wonderful job capturing the true erik and not 'fangirl!erik'. Congrats.

I think he had a false nose in the book...or Firmin mentions something like that in his memiors...0.o; Anyway, amazing job! He should have been ickier in the movie I think, but I must agree, what can an actor do with so much make-up and/or a mask covering a good part of his face?

Okay, I am more so the book lover than the musical... so Leroux and Susan Kay's phantom is my cup of tea... And this is well done!

this is a really good combination of the book and musical. Erik actually looks like he'd be quite handsome judging by his unscarred section of his face.

:fighting against Leroux purism:

Oh well, I like this anyway. I like the skull-like look as opposed to the musical-style makeup.

It is like the Leroux version in that he's missing a nose- poor chap. The stage makeup's quite impressive, but you can't expect actors to sacrifice their noses for the sake of their art! I quite like the shape of the mask used in the musical, this seemed the best compromise. On a technical level, one must wonder, though, if one could really have the voice of an angel with a nose and part of one's cheek missing- it would seriously effect one's breathing after all. But it's only a story, so never mind.

:nods: The vertical halfmask does afford the best range of expression for the actor--it'd be way too difficult to convey any type of emotion with a full mask on...or even a horizontal half mask. And I do love the no nose thingin the picture ...poor Erik! I wonder if anyone else has thought about facial deformity in accordance with vocal technique? Hmm...

True, it does show Erik's harsh reality. Wonderful job portraying it. His eye might look better if it was set farther back into his skull, but, hey, I'm one to talk.

*s Erik*
