Description
Probably a huge file b/c I wanted it to be in "HD." Just a warning.School's out, and I guess I'll just post this because it's done.
Was experimenting with posing with weapons, so here are some characters and their supposed preferred weapons. And the Canada pose is shamelessly taken from the the previous one.
Now it became a mock "poster" for a movie. Lol.
I'm working on fight choreography with many types of weapons, so I'm testing to see how they come out.
Description/Comments for each character (top to bottom):
Macau - Apparently, he's depicted with fans a lot, so I recolored a fan accessory to black and tried to model this after a wushu type of fighting style.
Finland - Yup. He's a Sniper. Forgot what model the gun was, but I probably fail gun basics forever (the layout of the shoulders was a bit off). Also, the gun's in .pmd, so probably can't move the model with this one. Had to look at multiple photos to reference this one.
England/UK - The sword isn't supposed to be that huge (It's Sting from LOTR), but I liked the pattern (wonder if anyone found this sword yet), so I oversized it.
Canada - his bow pose from a previous work, and i edited out the sticky toes that came out of his boots. Once again, inspired by Hawkeye from the Avengers
France - a rapier and dagger seems to be a popular combination when I'm searching fight choregraphy for swords. Also, a rapier's pretty flimsier than Iggy's sword, so I gave France a dagger to make up for it, and to make use of his dangling left arm.
America/US - Dual Wielding Guns. I should've used Glocks, but I found a prettier gun to use. Either way, I'm satisfied with him.
Japan - Of course, the katana. Probably there's an overused amount of MMD stuff with katanas in them, so I had to find a not-so-generic pose. Based off of jademacalla's awesome stock photo: [link]
China - Went for a traditional Dao sword, and very meaningless pose.
Denmark - Now, this took a little bit more time than all the others. I found the perfect design for the Ax on google warehouse, but the handle was not so pretty and wasn't long enough, so I thought that I could take off parts of the handle that wasn't good. But then I just went "screw this" and deleted the handle and made a simpler longer one. NOTE: (I might plan on distributing the battle ax, if anyone wants it. By now, it's by PM, but if a lot of people really want this axe, I'll make a distribution page for the battle ax).
Germany - It's a whip, but it looks like a bunch of chains. Now Germany is a very masculine, tall version of Kurapika from Hunter X Hunter
Iceland - Saw fanart of him using a gun and a sword here [link] Thought it would be cool.
Sweden - gave him a longsword, because he's awesome. Might as well put in a horse in here, too. Based on [link]
Prussia - Last but not least, the great and awesome Prussia. Found Glamdring at Google warehouse and thought that Prussia would like a longsword
Now I should be including Spain, Russia, and the Italies, but I can't because the Italies are out of distribution and I'm waiting for Roco to make a better model for Russia. There. Don't ask about it again.
T E C H N I C A L - D E T A I L S
MME: Half Lambert Shader (nothing else, really... it's all about the angle, and if you set the display for the point lights off, the lights still show, so you can move the light to literally any angle)
Models:
- Macau by Namima
- America, Canada by Zeze
- England, Denmark, Japan, Turkey by Kanaha
- China, Finland, Iceland by Roco
- Germany, Prussia, France by hana
- Sweden by kurokuma
I will not list where the weapons came from because ther's too many, and most of these came from Google Warehouse.
Currently working on a Fem!Austria vs. France choreo for Project:Voyager, so stay tuned for more information.
Probably I should open up "requests" for a nation vs. nation thing, see if anyone's interested in pitting nations against each other and voting on the outcome. That is, if I have the time to animate stuff (yes, I do).

Um, yeah, sorry! You might have to scale it to about .001 in size.

The ax is an accessory file, so it should be a .x file.
On the MMD interface, you should be able to find the accessory box. I'm not good at describing things, but you have to change the values (labeled Si 1.0000) at the bottom left of that box to something smaller, like in the decimals. I don't remember actual numbers, but you'll have to play around with it.
If you didn't get what I said, use this tutorial. [link]

Firstly, have you found the Accessory Manipulation Box? It should be a dark yellow box at the bottom of MMD.

Oh, that's another story!
Stay on that accessory box.
There's should be three dropdown menus. The first one is to choose which accessory you're using, like Denmark's ax. The two bottom dropdowns are the ones we're talking about.
The dropdown on the left is the Model you want to hold the accessory. You want Den to hold it, so set it to Denmark's model.
I don't remember how this model works, but if you set it right, the axe might change its position up a bit because it's attaching itself to the mother bone of Denmark's model. If you want to check even further, go back to Denmark's model and try moving him around. The ax should be moving with him.
I'll tell you the next part once you get this part done.

phantomdare1 In reply to DenmarkMathias [2012-12-15 05:43:09 +0000 UTC]
Oh, yeah! Forgot about that!
A lot of Hetalia models come in originally without names for their bones, so this might be the hard part. In order to make those bones usable, I had to use PMD editor and rename some bones so they would show up on the dropdown.
I can help you and walk you through it if you want on this part.
I'm sorry this is such a hassle.

I will figure it out some day. Until then, I can pose Denmark around the ax

phantomdare1 In reply to DenmarkMathias [2012-12-15 06:49:03 +0000 UTC]
I figured that it's because the bones are labeled weirdly (Japanese settings or something). I don't remember how to work around it now, but I suppose using a dummy bone would work.

I'm sorry... I kinda laugh every time I see any of the Nordics, so this is perfectly normal... Right?
I would love to see this movie. I'm not even kidding. YEAH PRUSSIA, GO KICK SOME BUTT!!
