Lately you could feel eyes on you. It’s not just a simple stare or a glance, it felt like someone was trying to burn a hole with their look. But every time you looked around, you found no one looking at your direction. Maybe it was just your feeling, maybe you thought wrong, or maybe they just very clever to hide…
At first, you thought nothing about the staring… because you thought it was something to do with your job. You work as a part time on a small café. Since people sometimes would glance at the counter to check their order and all, you honestly felt used to the stare. But not like this… there’s a shiver ran through your body as you felt the same stare over and over again every day.
You started to feel a little bit restless, but still thought it was nothing too important to bother your friends or colleague to tell about it.
You couldn’t help but look down at the counter every time you felt the stare. Sure, you’re dying to know who’s been staring at you but at the same time you’re also afraid to found out about it.
The feeling stop and you felt relief washed over you which made you too late to realize there’s someone standing in front of you.
The man before you gave an unimpressed look at your incompetent to greet customer. Or maybe it’s just his natural expression. The man was clearly someone familiar to you as you greet him with a trained tone.
“Good afternoon, Mr. Ackerman. What would you like for today?” you offered.
The man, Mr. Ackerman, was pretty much a regular at the café, like any other office workers that comes to the shop.
“Black tea” he said curtly.
“Alright, would you like something else to go with that?” you nodded at his order, finger already hovering above the cashier machine. Because you already remember that he usually only order a drink, which make it unique since he always orders a tea at the coffee shop.
“No” another short reply.
“That will be (---).”
He gave the money with his usual “keep the change” before he walked away to find a seat.
You couldn’t help but wonder what kind of a person this Mr. Ackerman… what’s his job? Why does he always look like he’s pissed 24/7? Does he have any other expression besides the frown?
You shook your head as your thought running wild. You didn’t even know the guy except his last name. You shouldn’t pry too much into strangers.
About half an hour later… you shivered as you felt the same feeling that someone was staring at you. You quickly straighten your back and look around in panic.
No one seemed suspicious… you dared to look at Mr. Ackerman. He’s sipping his tea calmly with his eyes glued to his phone screen.
No… it couldn’t be him…
You shook your head again and tried to ignore the stare but it still sent shiver across your body every now and then.
The day was over before you know it and you still couldn’t found the person behind all those stares that you felt…
“God… I hope it stop soon…” you mumbled to yourself.
You said goodbye to your colleague and quickly getting out of the shop. It was pretty late like usual and you still need to do some paper for your college. You stretched out your back and you could feel the strain from working and studying at the same time every day. A yawn passed your lips and you decide to just listen to some music as you walk back home.
You couldn’t feel it at first… it was just you and the blazing music on your ear that all you cared about. But then… a shiver shot through your body.
You turned around so fast in panic that you couldn’t balance yourself properly and your feet stumble a few steps back. Your eyes looked around blindly in the dark. Your heart slow down after a moment when you found no one was behind you. But it only made you even more restless.
You tapped your feet at the street as you made sure for another minute that no one was following you before you turned around and walk as fast as possible.
“Fuck… what if they follow me home…” you sighed bitterly.
You took out your phone and bit your lip as you thought about telling your friend… but decided against it after a while and slide the phone back inside your pocket.
“Nah… it’s nothing bad… it’s nothing bad…” you prayed softly.
“Good afternoon, Mr. Ackerman. What would you like today?” you greeted with a trained cheer tone.
He took his time to think. Which was unusual.
“What do you recommend?” he asked with a soft tone.
It took me by surprise at his request.
“Ehh? Uhh, I… I’d recommend (??), but you usually order a tea…”
He looked at you in amuse.
“Not-not that it’s wrong or anything! You can order whatever you want.” You explained in a hurry.
“Then I’ll order what you recommend.” He gave a nod.
“O-Okay. Uhh… umm, would you like something else to go with that?” you asked again, you could even hear the unsure tone in your voice.
Another short silent.
“Your recommendation?”
“Oh! I would… I’d recommend (??), it goes pretty well with (???).”
Damn, you feel like you’re a newbie again all of sudden. You stuttered more than once and you could feel your face heated out of embarrassment.
“Then I’ll order just that.”
“Okay, that’ll be (---).”
Your face heated up even more before you could stop yourself, you keep on stealing one glance after another at Mr. Ackerman. Now that you observed him… he looked pretty hot. He’s older than you, for certain, but probably only by a few years… he’s still look so young.
His hair was neatly combed to the side. And the suit he wore was always look like it’s painted on his body, it’s pressed tight but not makes it look too overwhelming. There’s always a faint dark circle under his eyes, but fuck did it make him look even more handsome.
“I’m so gay for that man…” you whispered to yourself jokingly.
You decided to steal another look at the man. But as you raised your head, so did he. Your (color) eyes met his grey one and throw your head in another direction so quick that it made you dizzy for a second.
“God dammit… I wanna die…” you whimpered as your face was flushed red.
You wouldn’t dare to steal another glance after that. And you tried your best to avoid looking at his direction at all times.
Another day passed and you’re on your way back home. You’re so deep in your thought that you completely forgot about something else.
Just as you entered the quiet area, you felt the familiar shiver. You freeze for a second, too shocked to even act.
“Wait, (name).”
Someone was calling out your name. And the caller’s voice is so familiar that it brought butterfly in your stomach.
You turned around slowly and looked at the man before you in disbelieve.
“Mr. Ackerman?”
The man approached you slowly with his usual blank stare. The feel of butterfly in your stomach quickly replaced by some unsettling feeling.
“Uhh, hi… good evening. Uhh, how do you know my name?” you started the conversation awkwardly.
“Nametag” he said curtly.
“Oh! Oh, I see…” you took a step back unconsciously.
He stopped after you took the step and there was a calculating look on his face.
“What are you doing in—”
“Shut up”
You couldn’t even finish your sentences as a hand suddenly clamp over your mouth and nose. A hand gripped over your arm painfully tight and you could feel yourself being dragged over to some dark small alley.
“Mmpphh!!”
You pulled at the hand covering your mouth but it won’t even budge an inch! It was only getting tighter and it started hurting your cheek.
You struggled to get free as hard as you can, to slow him down, to break away from his grip, whatever. Your mind was in panicked and you started kicking around. But your attempt went futile as he throw you roughly against the wall and pinned your body with his.
“Hngghh! Mpphhh!”
Your eyes widen in fear as he bought his face closer.
“(name)…”
He tighten his grip on your arm and pinned you even harder against the wall as he nudged a leg between your thigh.
You whimpered in pain and fear. You didn’t even know that you’re already shaking. Your trembling hand went freeze gripping his hand in a loose grip.
“…love me.” He whispered before he leaned in closer and removed his hand in the last second so that he could crash his lips against yours in a rough kiss.
It was all tongue and teeth, he bit your lower lips a few times that made you whine in pain. You clenched your eyes shut throughout the kiss. You didn’t even know when you started clinging on his shoulder since you couldn’t feel your legs anymore. His arm wrapped tightly around your hips to keep you from falling down.
He pulled away right before your eyes rolled back from the lack of oxygen. You coughed, taking as much oxygen as you can, and panted. Tears were streaming down your face.
“No… please…” you sobbed “…stop… please…”
He leaned to your ear and gave it a painful bite that ripped out another whine from your bruised lips.
“…love me. That’s all I ask for.”
