Fahari is mate to Choto, mother to Zira and Mkali, grandmother to Nuka, Vitani, Kovu, Ajabu, Jamila, Noyta, Mirembe, Deka, and Dakari, and adopted grandmother to Amara and Zeburi.

Fahari is a strict but kind Queen, but she questions the kind of influence Prince Scar has on her daughter. Mkali's birth late in her life leaves her weak for the remainder of it, and she passes away when he is a cub, leaving Choto to raise him until he, too, dies.
