Sergeant Cuff from the Victorian sensation novel "The Moonstone" by Wilkie Collins. Sergeant Cuff is this brilliant detective/police officer who has this strange obsession with roses. When he retires he gets a house in the country and grows tons of roses. XD

In the book he is described as:
"so miserably lean that he looked as if he had not got an ounce of flesh on his bones in any part of him. He was dressed all in decent black, with a white cravat round his neck... his long lanky fingers were hooked like claws. He might have been a parson, or an undertaker- or anything else you like, except what he really was."

Obviously I stretched this description to the limits. I don't really like how it turned out... and I could have done so much more with the painting... but I felt like it would be better to upload it like this and move on to other things rather than get stuck.
