Description
Yowch.. I've never been both so torn and invested in a cartoon series at the same time before. BoJack Horseman is a character that is excruciating to watch, but at the same time, his day-to-day mental struggles are completely understandable. All the main characters in Bojack Horseman feel more real and relatable than I felt in a cartoon in a long time. While this is not a cartoon you watch to try and put yourself in a good mood, it is a cartoon I highly recommend to adult viewers. From Princess Carolyn to Todd to Dianne, each character has an inner struggle that is slowly fleshed out as the story has progressed through the 3 series so far.The cartoon discusses a bit of everything from capitalism, fame, infamy, to the finite nature of human experience. While I personally found Todd's "shennanigans" and BoJack's cruel, selfish nature a little repeatitive at times, much of it is to drive home a deep point the show is trying to make, so it is difficult to fault. The other minor nitpick is Bojack starts off to a slow start in season 1 and it takes til about season 2 to really get characters having some of those deeper experiences.
If you've got some spare time to binge-watch a bit of this Netflix series, I highly recommend older viewers give it at least one looksie. I doubt you'll have seen anything quite like it.

I just made it though the entire series in just a few months and I gotta say everything about Bojack Horseman is so unique. It brings out the best/worst in Hollywood, it can be funny when it wants to be and I think it's one of the best adult cartoons ever made(It's way better than Family Guy because the jokes in that show make no sense and the characters are horrendously
hateable)
Todd is my favorite character because he's the one I relate to most
My 2 favorite episodes are Fish out of water and Underground
But I wish Sara Lynn didn't die because she was the only person that actually made Bojack feel happy and I think the 2 of them shared a loving relationship

I like this show, Phantomstrider. I watched a lot of it until I recently watched episode 2 in season 5.

I'd say it's one of the best shows on right now, but that's just my opinion.

I binged-watched all three seasons just a few weeks ago. There were times when I cried with laughter, and there were times when I actually cried. There were also times where I was completely floored by whatever happened in the show. It's an emotional rollercoaster that's one hell of a ride.Β
My biggest complaint, though, is the same as yours: it starts out too slow. It doesn't get good until four or six episodes in. I actually watched the first three episodes back in November, and I was turned off by it. I didn't watch it again until my friends kept hounding me about it.
Usually, if someone is not interested in watching a show, you shouldn't tell them, "Oh, just watch a couple more. It gets good!" No, if they're not into it, they won't be interested in watching more episodes. I'd then suggest to start with Episode....4 (I think?), but then they'd have to do research on the show first to figure out what's going on (and might encounter spoilers as well). BoJack, you're putting me in a hard place here!Β
Otherwise, though, this show is the balls. I absolutely love how a little joke or sentence in one episode can suddenly turn into a major plot point for another episode. I love how it deconstructs what real life is like for celebrities in Hollywoo. I love how they keep the continuity so tight that you can't screw with it. And I can't wait for Season 4.Β
Okay, SPOILERS EVERYONE!! AVERT YOUR EYES!!

"I wanted to be an architect..." Nothing hit me as hard as that scene in the whole show... When he saw his old old flame and nearly did.... that to her daughter was pretty powerful too. But I must have missed the whole bojack having a daughter part! The last scene I saw was when he bailed while driving when he saw some running horses.. I'm not quite sure I got that scene perfectly..
Lol. You have a very vivid way with words, Vocaloid I should get you to write my scripts for me

I think the scene with his daughter was right before the horses one. Here it is:

Also, thank you! I'm so flattered! Β Lol, it'd be really awesome to write your scripts, but my schedule is busy enough already. (Also, the time difference wouldn't be on our side since I'm in the U.S.) They're your videos, but I don't mind giving suggestions!

Ohhh that part. Yeah I remember that. That was very sad. It seems like an idea they'll just throw away, but you never know for sure with this show..

I doubt it. The fans would never let the creators get away with passing a bombshell like that, and the show already has a reputation with making plot points out of jokes.
