It took about thirty hours, but it's finally finished! Huzzah! Obviously, I'm a sucker for detail, and it's really slowing me down. This is the sort of thing that can be achieved by someone with minimal artistic flare, but who is incredibly anal retentive and has gratuitous amounts of spare time. I think it's high time I learned how to speed paint. Despite all this, I'm happy with the end result, so I can finally get back to my uni work!Related content

I love the colour descent, how it looks like two different pieces placed on top of each other from a distance, but then when you look at it closely, they are joint and are merged together beautifully.

This was definately well worth the time! I can tell you spent a lot on it and it looks just amazing. The color and the way it flows from moonlight to firelight is incredible.

I like how the lights are meshed in perfection. This library shouts medieval and magical and the lights prove as much.
I like the detail since I am also a sucker for those things as well. The detail will get you into real trouble if your trying to make a deadline just about 4 hours from the start of work. But, since you are not really trying to beat something, this piece is a good way to unwind with knowing you can make this type of works.

I really don't understand what you mean with "minimal artistic flare"... This painting is absolutely awsome! The colors, the warmth... and the whole idea and the composing is just beautiful!

It's beautiful! If I could have this library in my house.........it would just BE my house. I'd have to have a side room or two for the kitchen and the bathroom, but I'd just sleep in there and everything. In other words, not only is your artwork very well done, but your concept and execution is extremely appealing!

the concept and design is wonderful too. the mix of all the trees and animals in with a library is great. man, id love to grab one of those chairs and read in there for a few hours. brilliant job!
