I couldn't escape the popularity of Star Wars, so I just had to make some fanart plushies!

When I saw Rey's costume, I just knew I had to plushify it. It's simple, but very iconic and I loved the sandy colour palette. Surprisingly, I didn't have to buy any new materials for it either. I'm pretty proud of the shawl (and lucky) because I had this leftover light silk fabric that, upon tinting it with fabric medium, gathered up naturally into folds! The plush is only 10" in height, so it's always really difficult to get fabric to drape at that small scale.

tl;dr Silk is awesome. Use it for all the mini things.

Oh, and I know that blue is horribly annoying to photograph as a backdrop for my plushies (not as bad as yellow, but still pretty terrible)... but I went the mile because the colour has significance.

Rey in this outfit will remain one of a kind! As much as I like doing conservation sewing (see this tumblr post for details), I won't do it again. The shawl alone probably took like 5 hours to make. I'll wait until Rey has more outfits if I make her again.
