The color is what caught my eye as well. We have the usual all yellow ones and the occasional monarchs but like yourself this is the first one like this I've seen.

I think they are beautiful too.  I also love dragonflies, Praying Mantis, and Walking Sticks too.

I used to have praying mantises return every year to my garage in a sort of weird children returning home kind of thing. But since I don't have much time to spend out there I don't know if they still come back.
