Description So The Girl and I tried some portrait work this morning... this is one of the images that turned out mostly okay...

Turned it sepia attempting to get that 1800's old west kind of look... let me know if it worked please

That's my son's Marlin 30-30 lever action I am holding, wanted to use mine without all of the modern knurling on the stock but to make it realistic I would have had to remove my scope and that was a bit more work than I wanted to deal with.

Necessity is the mother of invention, in regards to not wanting to remove the scope. I'm not a firearms guy so if you this pic looks fine to me!  Great story telling here but all you are missing is the tobacco pipe. Then again, I'm not saying you should take up smoking... well maybe for just one picture.

Great. Changing workplaces like socks . Looking for my prince. It's been a restless summer so far.

How are you?

Ah if only I were single and a bit younger I might try for that prince position

Me? Well battling a learning curve going from turboCAD to AutoCAD... trying to get used to working in a small office with no windows but otherwise mostly I'm alright

I thing I'd even settle for a frog at this point, but no luck yet.

I tried the office thing too, but it downright sucks,
so I'm giving it another try with something different

Loved hearing from you!

Tell your Girl, she did a wonderful job on the antiquing of this photo!
I like your hat!!
Try taking a photo of you and your new gun..
I have seen some awesome modern photos, posed in the great outdoors!
Something posed like the old photos, but with the modern gear.
The modern wilderness man..

I certain will/did

You know that sounds like a great idea... But now the question is do I use a scoped 30-30 or the AR?...

If I could afford the setup I would love to eventually own a nice six shooter with the full holster setup... but for the same money I could get a base model AR and a years worth of ammo

Use the modern gear in the "antiqued" photo.
Night scope, AR and loads of ammo, but you dressed and posed 1885.
The setup might not be that expensive.
Finding a backdrop cloth that looks the part would help.
Some back rops looked fancy, others were basic gray.
An "old" chair and side table are the next items.
Research some old western photos, you will see there are just a few things.

I used to do old fashioned photos in a studio. It was allot of fun.
The photo of my icon is one of them.
Borrowing an old six shooter and holster would help you look the part of an oldie.

Creating a set would be important for making the pic look "old".

I have seen some pictures of modern gear in an old fashioned posed photo.
Done right, they look awesome.
