I got some reactions on my Korrasami week drawing where they meet Kyoshi, referencing the novel Rise of Kyoshi, which I didn't think was out yet. But it is! So I rushed off to read it
While I missed my chance to do something extra cool with Kyoshi's own supporting cast for that drawing, the book is so good that it warrants some fanart of its own! (Kyoshi was already my favorite avatar, just 'cause she was such a powerful and effective avatar, but learning where she came from just elevated her to one of my all time favorite characters).

I was originally planning to draw the complete Flying Opera Company in the background along with adult Kyoshi! But that's just a whole lot of extra work, and since not all of them survive, it would date this drawing, as there is a follow up novel planned (Shadow of Kyoshi). I was also thinking about putting an older Rangi up there (with short hair!). However, we know she will be only the first of Kyoshi's life partners (Kyoshi has children and lived to 230 after all) and I think it would lose a bit of the 'fully realised Kyoshi versus child version' thing this drawing has going on.

(If you're wondering where my fifth Korrasami week drawing is by the way: I'm sure I'll get to it at some point, it's like 75% finished, but I wasn't really feeling it anymore)
