Description Quick facts:

What is it? A Greasemonkey (GM) script for Firefox (FF) (and some other browsers like Opera) to improve my usage of deviantART: shorten page titles, add a navigation bar and remove link obfuscation.

History
v.1.7 - 2010/05/30 - Adapt to dA v.7. Removed Move reply area as they did that already!
v.1.6 - 2009/10/21 - Remove link obfuscation ("outgoing link").
v.1.5.3 - 2008/11/21 - Centered the Move reply area button.
v.1.5.2 - 2008/11/11 - Fixed anchoring to dock, again...
v.1.5.1 - 2008/08/06 - Bug fix.
v.1.5 - 2008/08/05 - Button to move reply area.
v.1.4 - 2007/11/12 - Added the jump to ID, support of v.6 as well as v.5 (in time of beta test of v.6).
v.1.3 - 2007/12/04 - Modularized, added links to uncomment.
v.1.2 - 2007/11/12 - Changed the Gallery link to a combobox with lot of links!
v.1.1 - 2007/07/04 - Add the Gallery link.
v.1.0 - 2007/06/27 - Creation for titles.

How to use

See my Information on Greasemonkey scripts journal entry for all needed information!
(Mmm, now I must compress the file to submit it... Just add "unzip the file" to the start of the instructions!)

For fast, easier installation, you can go to the corresponding UserScripts.org page.

More infos:

Unlike my other scripts, this one is born out of my own needs!
It does currently three things, but might grow depending on the little needs I find.
As the history shows out, I had it for quite some time. A recent request (the move reply area) and the DD motivated me to make it public at least, just before my holidays...
Note: some features can exist in other scripts, probably better, I just made them my way...

Remove the "deviantART" title prefix: the favicon is enough for tab identification...
If you have lot of tabs in Firefox, having a title shortened to the essential information at the start is important!

Add a combobox in the account bar allowing to quickly jump to various parts of the account, or dA or actually anywhere (eg. the site holding your CSS images)!
You can edit the list (var links) below to add, remove or change the addresses.

/!\ Beware, the combobox replaces the Upgrade Now link (I know I can subscribe and how to do it!), so I don't know if it works on subscribed users.
If not, either give me code to add to fix that... or buy me a short sub!

Also add a text area after the combo box: if you type a number and hit Return, you will jump to the deviation whose ID you provided. Idem if typing d:.
If you type a string, jumps to the deviant whose name you gave. Idem if typing D: which is useful for names like 1 or 666...
You can use other prefixes:
- With a deviant name, use j: to jump to their journal, g: for their gallery and f: for their favourites.
- With a numerical ID, use n: to jump to a news article and F: for a FAQ entry.

I remove the link obfuscation, ie. if you click on a link in a comment in dA, you go directly there without an intermediary dA page!

All features can be deactivated, by changing in the script the lines below those starting with //$$
Read these comments for instructions.

I can't install it even if I'm logged in into userscripts.org

Do you have an error message?
Otherwise, you can just download it as a .user.js file and drag'n'drop the file into Firefox.

I suppose you have the Greasemonkey extension installed, right?
Do you have experience with these scripts? So I know if I must guide you or find what is wrong with mine...

Ah, for the record, you can right click on the monkey face on the bottom right of the status bar of Firefox, it should show "deviantART improvements" with a check next to it.
If you have it, it means that as a subscribed user, you have a different top bar from me which is no longer subscribed.
Perhaps you can do Save As (HTML only), upload the file somewhere and post the link here, so I can study the differences in HTML to hook into the top bar.

I love this script

Mostly for the button that moves the reply area right under the art. Although I did have to modify it a tad to add an event listener, because the width of my reply is almost as wide as my monitor (another Stylish script), and the z-index wasn't high enough on the comment box and it ran into the menu on the left. So I just added a z-index, and also a background to the replybox.

But great script man, I used to use that JavaScript bookmarklet, but this is a lot easier, and keeps my bookmark toolbar cleaner.

Oh, actually, there's one more thing.
When viewing small deviations (such as emotes), the reply button gets covered up by the +fav sidebar.
Maybe if you put it centered below the image, instead of off to the side.

Thanks for the report and the idea. I went to your latest two works, and indeed I can clearly see the issue. It should be fixed now (check update).

Yay!
Yes, that works perfectly. ^-^

Mm-hmm, very useful. I wish there was a way to edit the items in the Jump Around box without delving into the code, but other than that I have no crits.

Maaan your message box has more stuff in it than mine. XD

It might be possible, but it would need to add an edit area to the current page, get back your changes, save this in the config area for Firefox... Too lazy for this! And a trick: right-click on the monkey, right-click on the script name, it will open in your editor!

My message box is full... of notifications I haven't time to read (for most of them)...

Ah. Well, I suppose I should bother myself to learn the code already. XP

Mm, my only problem is the 'Jump Around!' box. D8 Its whiteness distracts me LOL /fail

Other than that, it's really convenient. D8 YOU GENIUS

The search box of dA is white too...
If you are not afraid of code, you can change that anyway.

Find in my code setAttribute("style".
In the next parameter, add background-color: #BCCEC3;.
So the result will look like:
something.setAttribute("style", "background-color: #BCCEC3; something else");
Italic stuff is variable... There are two occurrences to change.

The #BCCDC3 is the color, a dA green, you can adjust that. Of course, edit the "live" code, or re-install the script after editing it.

You know, deviantTIDY does two of these things already for your convenience.

Probably, yes, I never got around trying your script, I admit. Perhaps because initially (IIRC), it was only an extension. I see you released it as a script now.
Anyway, I made this script mostly to scratch my own itches, and for fun of course.
But I advise visitors to check your excellent scripts!

Cheers for that. In actual fact, dT was a stylesheet first, then a FF extension, and finally a script as well.

Well nevermind, but for some reason it is not working with this deviation. Could you hide my comments after you have read them?

I'm having issues removing everything but the "move reply button" Could you help me? Perhaps?

Automatic scan of the list of watchers. So you combined it with the "watching you" script?

o_O
It is just an overlook (copy/paste error), corrected. Thanks for pointing it out.
