Very cool--a neat, unique idea! And I'm glad to see you got it all working, finally.

Oh thank you,I've got so far to go, no backgrounds or photoretouching, but this interaction is a step in the right direction.

The hardest part of adding backgrounds is finding good images. I think some people use screenshots, but I'm an Xbox player, and while I technically *can* make screencaps, they're pretty lo-rez and not suitable at all for this sort of thing.

But once you do find a good pic to use, save your piece in xnalara and select the "save alpha channel" option (and save it at the highest % you can; 500-1000), then use Photoshop or GIMP or whatever to combine the 2...

Thank you for the advice, and I need it more than most.
Meaning to get into backgrounds; are there people here that will let you use one their generic ones like a Normandy interior? 'cause I play on XBox and PS3 never touched a computer before a month ago.
Don't know anything about Photoshop and never heard of GIMP, got to look them up.
Are there good places to download these free, google's a run around and installs new toolbars every time.

GIMP is free, and does most everything Photoshop does. Plenty of tutorials for it on youtube, too, to teach you how to use it.

If you wanna use pics posted here, if it's something someone's obviously put some time into I would think you should probably ask permission. (With screencaps you probably don't need to bother, since there's no original work involved in creating them.)

Google image search turns up some good & useful pics, too...

Thanks for getting back to me.
I was never thinking of using peoples posted art as backgrounds. I meant people who do similar XNALara stuff and would let me use an empty normandy extraction as long as I credited them.I'm using models from someone I contacted for the pics I've done.
Do you reckon I'll get empty Normandy interiors on google...I'll have a look later.

Oh, okay--I misunderstood. Yeah, people post that kind of stuff so that other people can download and use it, so as long as you credit them in the description (check how I do mine for examples), you're okay.

I have a couple of Normandy interior pics that I think I found on google. Haven't gotten around to using them yet, tho...
