Planet Concept 2 phill-art.deviantart.com/art/P…

I wanted to do a planet for each of my alien concept heads, here's the planet for the top middle alien from this set phill-art.deviantart.com/art/A…

These aliens are highly industrial and produce more military weapons than any other species and sell their technology through out the universe. Sadly they have practically destroyed their planet from pollution in the process. These aliens can stay active for 15 earth days with only a small fraction of that time needed for sleep, because of this, they managed to advance in technology faster than any other civilization. Since their planet can't support anything edible, most of their food and water comes from the planet's two moons.

"can't support anything editable"? I assume you mean "edible"?

Who says they can't grow foodstuffs indoors using hydroponics or aeroponics, though?

Really nice concept--it looks like something ILM would produce for a Star Wars film.   Very plausible, especially when you mention below that the planet is super-terran. I can imagine it having slightly higher density than earth due to unusual alloys of lightweight, superstrong metals in its crust, which, once refined, make incredibly tough starship plating and body armor, as well as exotic elements or compounds not found on earth that make incredibly valuable resources for trading with nearby star systems. (Think of the "unobtanium" from Avatar, the minerals and vespene/terrazine gases from the Starcraft games, or some of the unusual crystals used to make lightsabers and metals like beskar from the Star Wars expanded universe.)

Ha, thanks for the spelling correction. My spelling is equivalent to a 3rd grader, it's embarrassing.

That's true about how they could grow plants indoors, didn't think of that.

Really cool, that dark industrial athmosphere! Where do they get their materials from? Do they also "consume" other planets?

They don't consume other planets because their planet has enough resources to sustain multiple solar systems for millennia. It's one of the top biggest super earth type planets with in its galaxy. They mostly drill for different kinds of ore from the deep crust of the planet.

A highly militaristic alien species... that explains the guns sprouting from every roof-top.

Nice to see what that alien's environment actually looks like, though I would presume that there is still life of a more violent and twisted sort in the streets and alleyways below. Perhaps an ecosystem composed of mushroom like creatures that can filter out most of the toxins, live short lives and yet thrive on the detritus and waste given to them.
(Ex. Cryptococcus neoformans has been found to consume radioactive materials in the remnants of Chernobyl.)
This could then support an entire ecosystem of deadly monstrosities; each progressively more dangerous than the last.

But in any case I like this concept, do you have anything planned for the next one?

That's a cool idea, mushrooms give a gross feeling to environments, though I imagined this planet covered in metal, nothing besides the aliens themselves living on it.

I'll be posting more pretty shortly, I've been working on 12 of them simultaneously.

Sounds like the right recipe for a race of warmongers. However, is this race goes to war, either (a it will be starved to death because reduction in food supply or (b it conquers the entire universe and be starved to death because no one is around to provide food for it. And that's after -god forbid- they have eaten most of their kin: I guess they aren't vegetarians.

Steaks anyone?

I did think of how their supply of food would be a weakness, but I figured the planet might have a couple moons that could provide crops and space to raze meat that are heavily defended. I think I'll add that in the description.
