Description
In this one I wanted to make something more cinematic. I like the idea of the creature finding the viewer behind something. As for what it is.. maybe cape buffalo, octopus, bat, moth and human?Related content

honestly it looks more demonic than a scientific creation but it's still awesome. at first i kind of thought it looked like a balrog from LOTR.

Yea I can see that, *shrugs* It's apparently even more identical to another famous creature from H.P. Lovecraft.

It's either really mad or looking for the nearest bathroom.

Thanks.. Yea people thought it look more like Cthulhu, but I changed it's head tentacle to a horn, heh, so now I guess it's more like Balrog... That's what I get for using unoriginal animal parts like tentacles, horns and wings lol.

Cthulhu is a popular "god" like creature form a series of published (also rumored of unpublished) works of H.P. Lovecraft...and I have to admit I thought the same thing XD

Yea I realized it's a famous monster, but it's still kinda using generic creature parts.

Heh, it's just frustrating that the generic parts I chose are from a creature in a famous book... It's mystifying why I didn't remember CTHULhU when drawing this, since my friend is a fan of it. At least CTHULhU doesn't have tentacles off it's back and my creature's head isn't a literally an octopus head (despite tentacles coming from it), but anyway, thanks for the compliment. : )

you do have to remember that Lovecraft's writings where more "dont tell what it looks like, just try to describe how horrible it is, with out real description." In his books, there is little to know actual physical depiction, just that its scary as all hell. And the fact that he drives you mad...its just people have summed it up as such, that its very generic now...

I see, it's comforting to know that, cause I actually was trying to find excerpts from the book to see how much of my creature seemed like a rip off. Although, I'm thinking if I should edit the top tentacle on his head to more of a bull horn anyway. >_>

yeah with Lovecraft its more "OH ITS SCARY, SO SCARY IN FACT, IM JUST GOING TO BASE ALL THE WRITING ON THE ATMOSPHERE RATHER THAN THE BEAST!" haha, but yeah, if your gonna mix up animals, its more or less going to be like a lovecraft monster, just how it is XD
