9 layers on a piece of wood paneling11x17in
I had some problems with this one, my impatience to let paint dry for one..
Alignment issues,,too many layers..argghh!!!
I think I'll stick with the less is more thing next time. .

Wow 9 layers is a lot of paint. Plus is it acrylic or oil? Because oil takes like forever to dry.

As far as total paint, it's really that much as each layer does require it. I basically render an existing photo for a template

i have a lot of multi-layer stencils. they are a bitch. this is a a nice piece, problems or not.

problems, yes.. up close there are a lot of inperfections,, the hardest part is patience. I've learned to take my time, a week if necessary when it comes to high layer stencils. Thanks for looking and the comments, much appreciated!

I like the cartoony saturated aesthetic of this one.... but dang gloss paint can be a bitch when you're waiting for layers to dry, yeah? I banned myself from using it, cause I messed up too many canvases, but had so many cans sitting on my shelf not being used, so I'm phasing it back in. Have just had to train myself to go back inside and do other activities instead of impatiently standing there, cause it's a killer. This might sound obvious, and maybe you've already tried it, but have you used some slower nozzles with less pressure? As long as you make sure you've got solid and even coverage, your layers will take a lot less time to dry.......

yes, gloss paint sucks, but the colors available are crazy so, no actually I haven't used slower nozzles, I guess I'll have to try that,, thanks for the comments!
