O ! I thought for a mo that this was in Palermo where there are 8000 mummies in a cellar ! Most are skull-faced, but one little girl is only just starting to decay after 90 years ! Still, there is gradual and steady crumbling and some are just bones tied together with string and wrapped in burlap. One recently had its head fall off and a shelf nearby has collapsed sending the debris on it to the floor !

Yes, Italy. Sicily to be more exact. The mummies reside in the cellar of the Capuchins in Palermo. I suggest you go on a group tour, rather than all by yourself. Also ask yourself whether the cost, food, etc., will be worth it, or whether you'd be satisfied with online pics.
