"Though it's just a memory, some memories last forever..."

Inspired by Community Snapshot by the amazing a-kid-at-heart , this is an idea I've been toying with for a short while. Finally got it to a complete-ish state, and while there are definite areas for improvement already, I kinda just wanted to get it out.

This is a personal look on key events and memories from the emoticon community - specifically, the renaissance that seemed to happen from 2010 until early 2013. There's a lot going on here, so allow me to take you on a ride. From left to right, top to bottom, we have:

- Lush and Flump celebrating their birthday. I shared my birthday with Lushbob , and one year we did a collab. Can't believe we didn't do any more!

- Kat displaying her frustration at yet another typo. Kath602 was - and may still be - known for being able to typo pretty much every word she wrote. I'm convinced she was doing it on purpose

- Flump and Sis proudly brandishing their trophy for Emoticon Project of the Year, 2011. stuck-in-suburbia helped me to kickstart the Emoticonists Support Stamp project. While she may say she had no part in it, I imagine that without her influence, it wouldn't have got nearly as far as it did.

- Selador handing Flump a toy Hobbes. This isn't exactly emote community related as such, but of all the people in the community, I have otohime0394 to thank the most for her friendship, her "gentle coercion", and her always being there for me - whether it was to bounce ideas off or just to talk to.

- The panda balloon incident. I have no idea what happened, but Chip's supply of balloons have been "liberated" by Selador, Krissi, Zaesar, Minnie and Sinibug. This is based on a set of avatars made for a bunch of people by marcphx - I believe they're all still on his page. There were a load of times when the whole community adopted a single avatar style, and I think this was one of the nicer ones.

- Wiggly Jiggles. Honestly, I can't remember the context of this, but here are Muffin (nikkittie ) and Peeny (BlissfullySarcastic ) displaying their ability to do this (~o.o)~

- Sparkly Death doing a bit of crochet while iGor contemplates the nature of yarn. Looks like she's making a Croctopus for Lush. This alludes to SparklyDest and her wonderful Croctopi - or crochet octopodes, if the name wasn't enough of a clue.

- My daily deviation! Suggested by EternalxRequiem , which is why there's a picture of Zoe. Thanks again for suggesting it.

- And finally, the tower. This is a rip off of inspired by Synfull 's excellent Papermote Tower , and I think it sums up the diversity and fun we had in our community. It was small enough that everyone knew each other, yet big enough to be diverse and expansive. From the bottom, we have Syn, Kat, Essie, Muffin, Steoh, Peeka and Boo, Conie Chaz, Evelyn, Flump, Lush, Kadul, iGor and Death, Sis and finally Peeny.

So there we have it. A small look at one man's memories of the greatest community on the planet. There were a lot more things I could have added, like Syn's fascination of potatoes and the Wholly Awesome Trinity - but, hey, we can always have a page two, right?
