It reminds me both of a flapper and of Princess Tutu.
My brain hurts now.

I'm impressed with how you incorporated the elements of the swan into her costume design.

What a lovely pose! I do have to ask, did you have trouble deciding what to put in the background? The black oval seems a little out of place with the overall elegance of the picture. Plus, it seems to toggle the viewer's focus between the swan, who is centered in the oval, and the ballerina, who is not, rather than promoting a flow... Regardless, it's gorgeous and I love it. <3

The colour (or lack thereof) is beautiful here.
Which ballet, if any, were you inspired by?

Not being the artist, it really isn't my place to comment, but as a ballerina, I'd have to say Swan Lake.
(Woohoo for commenting months after the original... Sorry about that. )

Whoo, cue Tchaikovsky.
At least, I think that's a swan.

I like the movement and the colour scheme, I love how you render certain fabrics as delicate yet at the same time structured and angular.
I feel it would be just a bit better if the swan silhouette were crisp, and also if there was perhaps a bit more weight on the left half due to the increased contrast on the right.

Ooh this is beautiful!
I have always loved ballerinas, I used to watch my cousin practice with her special pink slippers all the time ah the memories...
What is she performing Swan Lake?
