Can someone explain why do people ship them? I find this ship really weird. didn't Graves/ Grindelwald support Credence only because he was an Obscurial, he could kill other muggles, and Grindelwald wanted him on his side? Also, isn't Credence like... 15? (correct me if I'm wrong), so you're shipping someone who is underage with someone who is probably 20 years older than him (I wouldn't have minded it if he was older than 18, but the fact that he's underage is... quite problematic, in my opinion). think it would be more logical to ship Tina with Credence, since she supported him when he was younger, she knows him better, and Credence probably feels more attached to her. I am really confused, so if someone could explain this ship to me that'd be nice.

I found the sexual overtones of some of the Graves and Credence scenes creepy. But it was definitely there. The actors were asked about it in an interview and they said it wasn't stipulated in the script or direction but they didn't deny it was there. Colin Farrrel said that Grindelwald is a master manipulator using whatever he thought would work to get what he wants. Ezra Miller pointed out that Credence is surviving in a desert where it's been so long since anyone sees him or even offers simple human touch and Graves is providing that.
I personally put Credence at somewhere between 17-19 which would have been considered "adult" for his economic class and times. I found it odd that he was always holding Modesty's hand but again, it could have been the need for touch as well as orders from dear old "Mum" Barebone, witch hunter. And I agree with the fan who dubbed Percival Graves the Silver Fox. I found him very attractive at first!
As for shipping, fans have varied tastes. And this one is actually kind of canon with the added "thrill" of being illicit if Credence is underage and creepy as hell unless it's an AU.

But god does he have an amazing bone structure. The way his cheeks dip between his jaw and cheekbones. Beautiful. Also I swear I saw freckles in some scenes. I love freckles

I really like this couple... It's a pity they destroyed my ship in the end of the film... I like to imagine them in an alternative universe where Grindelwald didn't take Graves's place, or at least where Graves was under Grindelwald's command searching for the obscurus but fell in love with Credence and was killed... I don't know, I just really liked the idea of them in a relationship and if it wasn't for the fact that it was Grindelwald at the end, I would, at least, be able to read some fics... #sad #theyfuckedmyship #angst

Honestly I was hoping the movie was going to be a little more dynamic with this relationship; that instead of just using Credens, Graves would actually care about him. Maybe I've just been stuck in the fangirlverse for too long *sighs* oh well. Thanks for a great pic!!!

i have to say, i was a little disapointed that Farell turned to, well, Depp at the end. i wanted Farell to play Grindelwald in the other movies! hes so charismatic. Depp isnt just anymore. im not talking about being 'hot'or sexy here, just that i dont know...i lost my love for Depp since a few years. maybe the next PotC will change this..we'll see!

Ah another who is disappointed that Johnny Depp was cast as Grindelwald! I would have loved for Percival Graves to be a follower/deputy of Grindelwald and to see him in other films. I thought Graves was in interesting opponent vs. the more cartoony villains in the HP series.
I read and adored a lot of Grindeldore fan fiction back in the day and found their story, as fleshed out by excellent storytellers, fascinating. So I'm already disappointed in who was cast as Gellert, who was supposed to be gorgeous when he was young! (In Albus' summer of love............) Let's see who is cast as younger Dumbledore. Also, I think the new information about Oscurials certainly changes Arianna Dumbledore's story greatly for me. And makes me wonder, how long Grindelwald was interested in this supposedly extinct form of magic! Like did he suspect the Dumbledore sister was an Oscurial and that's why he made the acquaintance of Albus or did the interest stem from after meeting her? Because if it was before, perhaps Gellert was using Albus like he later does Credence and he never had feeling for him!

Finally someone who thinks like me ! I used to love Depp but I find him boring now. Always playing the same character in every movie... I expected better for the role of Grindelwald. I don't really like Colin Farell but he was awesome in the movie, I was really disappointed at the end with that plot twist. Let's see what Depp will do in the next movie !
