fer more of a background on the word: "yid" is a shortened version of the word "yiddin" which is a derivative of the word "יהודים"(yihudim) which is the hebrew word fer jews.

at least not in modern times. i'm jewish and if someone called me a yid i would be fine with it. i would mostly be intrested that they knew the word in the first place. but perhaps it used to be offensive.
