Ahhhh, the desperate but failing student. Every unscrupulous professor's bitch. The artwork is amazing. By the way, that should be "cards IN the workplace". And you wouldn't be "cocky" if you don't win at cards, you would be either "sour" or "bitter". Just pointing something out.

I just love Immanuel so much - he may be dead-serious, but he's secretly got a soft side to let that poor student clear out the room. XD He looks so beautiful in the 6th panel too! I'm in awe!

If I could choose to have any drawing style in the world, it would be yours. Every single piece I've looked at (which has only been this story up to this point) is absolutely beautiful and effortless looking. I can't come up with words enough to describe how much I love it. Thank you! (and I like it when the old guy said "aww thankies!" haha)
Oh and I also LOVE WW2 era stuff, so the style and the subject are just making me swoon!

You wrote on your blog that Ima used to be a practical German teacher at the linguistics faculty, didn't you? That was when you killed me - a first-year student of applied linguistics - with the same comic strip for a second time XDDD

haha. Dad was a history student under the soviets. half his class failed Latin, so the lecturer gave them conditional passes if they marced around every hall in the university singing "gaudeamus igitur" at the top of their lungs, having learned it off by heart.

He has a very similar facial shape to my teacher: Mark, particularly when he's looking unimpressed. I'm not going to be able to think of anything else when I look at Mark now, oh dear.
