I totally agree with this, Murtagh is way more awesome than Eragon.
In fact, I was reading in this page about him here -> [link] in the ' Portrayal in film ' section it said-
"Murtagh is played by Garrett Hedlund in the Eragon movie. Washington Post reporter Stephen Hunter states in his review of the film that "[Hedlund is] far more charismatic than poor Ed [Speleers], [and] is brought in to fire off a few arrows and brood sexily in the background. Why, you sit there wondering, wasn't the movie about this kid?".
