Backstory:
Ruby was born as a part of the Katar Family..a family comprised of criminals whom a long while had a vast criminal empire that fell after one of her ancestors fell in battle against one of their greatest rivals. She was born in one of the small remaining parts of the family, who were simply trying to make ends meet, even if it meant small time robbery.  Life was already rough for her and her family, but what only made it worse was when Tethys, a Tropius police captain came with two of his men, practically breaking into their home, forcing Ruby to hide in a closet where she stayed absolutely silent, and covering her ears..just waiting and praying that they didn't find her.....several hours later she came out of the closet when she realized that things had gone silent..."Mom..? Dad..?" She called out...to no answer.  As the young Zorua looked around she eventually found something that horrified her...her two brothers and sister laying on the ground...dead.

This left an irreparable scar to her Psyche. To see that her two siblings that she had spent her days with were now dead in pools of their own blood....It tore her apart on the inside.  From then on she had essentially become a street mouse...stealing just to survive in a world that she felt was against her.  This went on for several years...she had earnt nicknames such as "Shadow Thief" and "Mistress of Trickery". Theft no longer became something essential or something she got a kick out of...but rather something she hated from the bottom of her heart...she never wished to become like her ancestors prior...she never valued power over any black market...

Eventually when the first opportunity arrived she had snatched something from a Chesnaught officer, Derek Wright, purposefully trying to turn herself in for something she felt that she had deserved.  Her plan worked and she was arrested by the rather pissed Chesnaught. When he told her she wanted to give up her criminal ways, he didn't believe her at first. But as she proceeded to act like a model prisoner, he started believing her. As soon as she was let out for good behavior, he started to go on dates with her. One thing lead to another, and before long they were married and had a kid. Since then her life has been normal, although she secretly fears that one day Tethys will find her and take that life away from her.

Personality:
Speaking positively...she is a rather pleasant woman despite her past and her species's...reputation for being nasty. She's certainly not a saint, but she's still a fairly positive woman all things considered. She's also known to be a bit sassy, and has a tendency to play rather harmless jokes with her illusions, weather it would be making it look like a lamp is slightly crooked or having the bag of popcorn up on the roof hanging upside down and not spilling somehow.

However, underneath this is a scarred individual who while she is grateful for what her life has turned out to be as of late, is still rather depressed over the loss of her family..especially her siblings...leading her to be rather emotional...even talking about her siblings in particular can lead her to practically blowing up in either tears or anger or even both.  She's also quite snarky towards strangers..often shooting rather low comments towards some people who just tick her off or something. But most of all...she is EXTREMELY over protective of her son...and Husband. Not an overall bad trait..but one that's very noticeable..

All and all though, she's a nice girl to be around... provided you're careful about what you say to her
Trivia:
- Her past..may or may not be very slightly inspired by Sly Cooper.
- This being said though she doesn't have an oddly shaped cane that's a weapon.
- Her family's past takes some notes from Overwatch's Shimada clan.
- Her name was another name that was reused from an old character who happens to be the mother of a favorite character in that said iteration.
- She's managed to make an entire terrain with her illusions, however her powers aren't nearly as developed as the Zoroark in Pokemon: Zoroark Master of Illusions.
- That being said...she can pull of some rather convincing disguises of certain Legendaries. Particularly of an Articuno.
- The Relationship between her and Derek was meant to be a sort of successful "Batman x Catwoman" relationship at least in terms of their backgrounds.
