“Wake up kitty…” She whispered softly in my ear.
“You’re home now…”
As I slowly roused from my sleep…An angelic face came to focus
I noticed
She had….
Wings….
“Where am I...And who are you…?” I growled bluntly

“You’re in the Valley of Light silly~” She said.
“And me?? You can call me Reiko~”

It’s quite odd…She’s an angel, she’s of royal blood…I really wondered what she wanted to do with me…A dire beast…The clan elders usually told legends of how our ancestors once served as the Imperial Guard in the Valley of Light…But due to an argument with the Shadowmoon Clan…our clans were banished to the Jungles of the nether world…The forests of Tartarus…My tutor always told me the story when I was but a cub…The incident…-

“Kitty... Wat’cha thinking about??” she said smilingly as she gently caressed my head

“Nothing… Nothing…Miss??”

“Call me Reiko” She smiled

“Ok…Reiko…Am I…”

“Yes??” She chimed

“Dreaming?? I asked stupidly.

“Silly Kitty…No you’re not~” She giggled sweetly.

“So you’re an angel then…??”

“Well… You can say that I am” she smiled again with that sweet angelic smile.

So, I stayed with Reiko, I lived with her, I ate with her, I slept beside her, And yes, I loved this sweet girl, I vowed, I’ll protect her with my life…

But as the days passed, my hunger for flesh and thirst for blood intensified, I felt the desire to hunt and kill, that a pure animalistic force of pure malice took over me. So as I watched Reiko sleep, I decided, she’ll be my prey….And I shall kill her…tomorrow…

So as I stalked my mistress… I stalked her to a nearby spring… The spring where we first met… watching her every move relentlessly…

And as she took off her gown to bathe…I made my move…

I pounced…

And pinned her to the ground…Readying to deliver the mortal blow…But I wanted to savor her fear a little bit more…

At first, she was quite surprised…Cowering before my awesome might and dire ferocity…

But before I could deliver the mortal blow, I noticed…Her fear slowly began to ebb…

“Kitty why are you doing this” she smiled weakly.

Her smile and pure sincerity as she delivered those words… Struck me dead and lost for words as I regained my sanity…

“Kitty…If you must…Go ahead and kill me…From the looks of it you’re quite hungry…I'd rather be dead anyway, rather than see me poor kitty suffer…” she said weakly

“Mistress, I mean, Reiko, I don’t really belong here…” I growled guiltily.

“Please send me back to where I came from…”

“But kitty, you’ll just get killed in that awful place…” she said as her eyes started to brim with tears.

“NO, REIKO, I’m doing this for your own safety, you know how much I love you… But an ugly creature of darkness like me doesn’t-“

“But…you’re beautiful…I love your white fur, your deep ocean blue eyes, and your gentleness… Oh kitty…please stay!! I beg of you!! Don’t GO!!” she sobbed

“Princess, Don’t cry…”

“Then don’t leave me!!””

“But Reiko…I vowed to protect you from anything, even from myself, a dire beast of pure malice…”

“So please let me go…”

“NO!!” she sobbed as she covered her ears so that she won’t hear me.

“Reiko…” I sighed as I tried to comfort her.

“A creature of the dusk…Will always be a creature of the dusk…No matter what you do…Light will never mix with darkness…” I said sadly

“So does this mean I have to say goodbye to my kitty??” she wept.

“I’m afraid…the answer’s yes…”

“O...K…then…” she said reluctantly.

As she whispered some words, the spring suddenly glowed, and I saw the jungle from which I came from… The forest of Tartarus…

“If you want to want to go back…Jump in here kitty” she said blankly.

“Kitty, please remember…I’ll always Love you!!” she sobbed.

But I didn’t reply

I just pounced in the portal she created
                                                             Leaving her
                                                                                I never looked back
                                                                                                                I never did….

I woke up with a start…The bushes rustled…a deer…my prey…And so I pounced at it…and killed it brutally…

“So was that all a dream, Reiko, the Valley of Light??” I said to myself.

But what Am I….I am a tiger of the Silverfang Clan…I’m a fighter…A dire beast of the dusk…and only that…I should have no regrets upon the path that I chose…

And I suddenly remembered the reason why I was in this part of the jungle…The mission…I have to complete the mission…for the sake of my clan…So I erased all my thoughts about Reiko and focused on the given mission…

So I pushed deeper into the jungle…
