It's from "Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy", a thing Douglas Adams created in the late 70's.
Wich kind got popular, and I can only recomend if people likes to read fun stuff. 
It's a Trilogy in 5 parts I think the version I have claims.Β
There's a Scene in there where a Flowerpot and a whale falls from the sky, and they both get's a last line of thought.
42 is the ultimate answer in there for *Everything*.Β
