Absolute wonderful capture here.
I'm listening to a song called "The Promised Land" right now, and so I almost started crying when I saw this.
Wherever you took this, this place was a gift from God. How beautiful. The immediate thing that caught my attention was the sun streams. They look so soft and resonating. This makes me want to lay on the edge of a cliff and stare up at the sky all day.
Beautiful, beautiful photo.

The promised land is a bunch of rocky mountains? I would've expected a much nicer place, it IS the promised land, you could try something different, something more hospitable as I don't think this is very "promising" Get it?
There are too many ripples on the water as well, try reducing the wave quantity (At least I think that's what you do).
The right side looks a little neglected though, you see that rock jutting out? It looks too conical and sharp.
You got the sky right though, with the clouds, colours and rays of light.
Sorry if this might be a bit harsh, but it does say "Advanced Critique Encouraged", I'm only trying to help.

Yeah, i did put adv crit for a reason.... i've gone thru all the crits ppl gave... and i tried to redo.
Tried. Stupid terragen cant load my .ter file for someone wierd reason! -_- so theres no way i can redo... and getting the rays of rainbow light will be impossible to redo again... T.T
So... i guess i'll throw this in scraps or smthn so i can save this great name for another hopefully better piece in the future!

It can't load the file? Strange, are you sure its a .ter file? If it is then it must be either corrupted of Terragen has a problem. You shouldn't give up on making the rainbow rays though, it's a great effect that I've never seen done before in Terragen. If you can't then you should try it in Photoshop

It loads... but the terrain is totally wrong and the camera positioning is gone!
Lol, anyw its ok... btw how do you create the ray effects in photoshop? thanks!

I don't know for sure, but you could try using some of your airbrushing skills, or maybe make them in seperate layers and change the layer pattern e.g Overlay, Soft Light, etc. Or a combination of both. Keep trying.

its a nice render... but to make the picture better, i guess u should model a cliff/mountain or 2 thats looks real unique/distinctive, so that there is a focus in the picture Or u could also do some lighting to the sky to depict a less typical scene of mountains

Yeah, its a texture problem.... have yet to find a realistic texture for the mountains.... but i am working on it

5/5
Damn...just damn...not nessasarily photo-realistic...but very near it
I DID had to check to see if it was a picture or not, but something about it just desn't look real...I don't know, I guess its that area around the middle with the splotches instead of textures
