Yeah.. but thats kinda the problem with this.. its nice work, but to anyone familiar with terragen, it\'s fairly stock stuff. As youve not had the program long its not like this is your fault, we all go through this stage, and i very much like your most recent TG piece..
The thing to do with TG to make it your own image rather than \"just another render\" kinda thing, is to work more on your texture layering, or to develop the atmosphere a lot and tweak it.. find your own unique style within the program this is a good start so im sure you\'re on the way to good things

Yeah, thanks!
Notice all the terragen pros give good crit., everyone else thinks \"whoa he must have put a lot of effort into this\" cuz they dun know terragen basics can already give great pics...
i will try to find my style soon.... basically now just using a few basic presets like sunset, noon, dawn etc. etc. and some basic textures.... so i\'ll try to make a extraterrestrial piece soon and see what i get..... anyway the fun in terragen comes from experimentation
thanks for the comments! much appreciated

Nice Terragen Work. If it's supposed to be a frozen lake, then I suggest you remove the waves by lowering the wave amount and levels. (There should be an option for that in Terragen, last time i checked there was.). The rest of the picture is nice.

Whoa, theres somone whos better at terragen then i am!
Thanks, i did realize post rendering that frozen lake shouldnt have so much waves, but i wasnt going to sit thru another hour of rendering!

No, it'll be worth doing it, for a more convincing effect. Try leaving it to render when you're going out rf leave it on for the night (If you can pay the bills ).

You could try making a new-improved version.

Great beauty...it looked very much like a photograph from here. The color keeps very much to the feel of winter, but the picture is bright and refrains from being too grey and bleak. The lighting has done very well in the manner it created shadows and reflections and also showed the ripples in the water.

It's a great piece that I can hardly fault, but if you want this to be a bit more interesting, try for a sunset version of it, and calmer water...then you'll be able to experiment with colors, clouds and even more reflections.

Damn, that's a pity...unfortunate that it had to happen, but if you believe in Murphy's Law, then you'll know that a computer crashes once you have lots of stuff yet unsaved.

Yup
Also, terragen is buggy.... but its not even v1 yet so i should have expected it!

Thankfully, Terragen is free. It's difficult to use though, and I've never successfully come up with anything yet.
