That's how background artists like you do the scene placements! Trust me, I have a hell of a time with drawing scenes mainly because I run out of things to put in it or I can't seem to shape the floor plan in an eye catching way. But I now see how you do it here without it feeling like tons and tons of work! And yet you still maintain decent detail and keep your own style to it.
Setting up 'prop' images and using them as basic inspiration and guides would be a great plan to attempt to help everyone learn to draw such scenes their own ways. Thanks for the tutorial.

glad to share some EXP with ppl, matte painting is an inspiration, a very fast and effective way to build a scene that is beyond your imagination, next time I would like to make a deep tutorial with more details, sorry for poor English, you'll get my mean I just know it

yes, some parts are painted over photos, firstly use photos for compositon and design, more like matte painting, then add strokes to creat your own style
