A family that really couldn't care for her due to their young age and while still a baby Devan's mother abandoned her, leaving her with her angry and drunk father. As Devan got older she basically had to take care of her father since all her did was drink and spend their money on booze-- the alcohol making him angry most of the time and causing him to yell and beat her. Ofter grabbig her to roughly or cutting her when she didnt do things right or well enough. Deven never went out much besides to go find food since her father never supplied enough money to put food on the table and she found it hard to interact with most men, feeling as though they'd treat her like how her father did, so even when she was hungry she tried to stay home as much as possible to avoid the outside world and the mysterious, scrary people out there. After dealing with her father for 13 years things had gotten so bad that Devan was almost beaten to death and she knew she had to get away. She didnt know where she'd go, but she had to get rid of her father or else he'd just go after her and no doubt kill her for sure, so one night while her father was passed out in his bed she shot him in the head which one of his guns. She burned down the house and run far, far away. Leaving that old life behind, so she could now be free.

Well, considering how she burnt down the house most of the evidence went with it, plus they lived in a lone house in the woods, so no one could have even noticed the house burn... maybe the smoke but that depends on if people went to investigate. Considering that her fathers body plus the burned remains of her house are still right where Devan had left them xD
