Description This is an odd choice to post for the first image produced with my newly converted (665nm) DSLR, but there you go. Except for levels adjust the car is basically as shot, but the background is substantially manipulated. Not my typical approach but, well, it worked for me here. I'm somewhat embarrassed to say I did not note the make and model.

1954 Packard. Near the end of their glory years.

This is very cool. Classic cars don't even need to be shiny to be beautiful

Do you prefer the 665nm to say, a 720?

I like the option - I can always pop the 720 filter on and only lose a stop. I don't care for the super saturated look you get with the 590 conversion because that looks hand colored - too fake.

(By the way, good morning! Why are you up so early?)

I am usually up at that time of day to post pics and catch up on things. So you use a R72 filter with a converted 665? I ask because I am looking seriously at converting my T3i later this fall and am trying to see which way to go with it.

In this case it was just the 665.

Well, it runs okay but the interior needs about $5K to restore it to original condition . . .
