This is absolutely adorable! I love the fact that the young boy is playing with the dog, and it doesn't seem forced, they are genuinely having a good time together. It shows that dog really is mans best friend. The picture catches the motion of the leaves, and how fall is most obviously a fast moving, fun time of the year. It makes you think back on all of the fun times you used to have playing in the leaves as a young child. It has a clear shine to it that seems endless. You couldn't do anything to make this picture more perfect.

This is a great photo that catches the movement of fall and the wonderful joy that is between the pup and toddler. I really love the tones and technique. I don't think that there is anything that I would change about this photograph. There are great options with this. It would work in Black and white, sepia, ect. Any family would be proud to hang this on their wall and it is an amazing and inspiring image that I will attempt to replicate with my year old niece. (only she has a black and white Great Dane so there is the fact that I won't be able to get the scale just right).

My suggestion in that case of the dog being black and white, which I know is a hard one to get the color scale just right and not get that darn blue hue to it when shooting.. lessen the color saturation just a tad, almost always increasing the color temperature and also increase the contrast just a tad, the shadows a tad and it could go either way depending on the lighting with the brightness. It changes all the time though, so just play around and if all else fails then black and white would be a good choice, that seems to never fail if small things like that intervene in the whole scale.
I did try this in black and white, I just did not get that feeling to the photo in black and white, just because it's so bright and it was impossible to get rid of the light without totally ruining other attributes of the photo. So the contrast would fall flat and not even out. But in the case of the black and white dog, it might be the only way to go. I wish you luck on this and I'm glad this photo was able to inspire you.
