Description Gnarled, twisted being breaking forth from the dead ground...looming over its companions.

Makes you wondered who was buried there!

Wow. I feel exactly like that tree right now... weighed down by snow and cold burden. I'm sick, if you're wondering what the connection might be; my back aches and my sinuses are throbbing. So at least this photo is beautiful.... not like I feel right now. Excellent, excellent work.

i know how you feel! i was sick with a sinus infection a few weeks ago...i usually get them about once or twice a year. absolutely miserable illnesses! i hope you feel better soon!

i'm glad you like the photo, too

I 'd this a while ago, and I can't get over how beautiful it is. That tree is just so intriguing and different, and the graveyard seems to simply frame it. I have an odd fascination for observing different shapes of trees... Love this. Great work.

thank you so much everyone seems to love this tree! it definitely caught my eye as well! i absolutely LOVE trees, and i can just stare at them forever. i'm finding myself looking at the bare branched trees of winter...while i'm driving! probably not a good idea! thanks for commenting, i'm glad you like the tree as much as i do

skyeklad In reply to photopixie [2004-12-05 05:39:03 +0000 UTC]

Oh dear, I do that too - not just trees even. Bushes too, when I'm driving. Flowers... I was wondering actually which cemetary that was, in specific, if you can remember. I'd love to go meet it in person.

photopixie In reply to skyeklad [2004-12-05 05:59:49 +0000 UTC]

hehe. yeah bushes, trees, CLOUDS....everything in nature seems to impair my driving abilities. We should watch out i guess! I think that cemetery is called Mentor Municipal Cemetery....It's mostly a veterans graveyard, and it's located near Tyler Blvd. I can't remember the name of the road, but it's on a road with lots of trees..a 2 lane road. I'll note you a better description.

Wow, awesome...
That tree looks as though it wouldn't belong anywhere else but in a graveyard, kinda creepy and angry looking. The snow adds a nice lonely, unvisited look. Love it. Great work.

i really like this, it reminds me of the bit in the poppy z brite book about the graveyards and the trees growing to take on the shapes of the dead dudes. or something.

but anyway.

I think you could make this a little bit better by spongeing out the red in the two graveyards, it kinda detracts from the rest of the picture, and that little red bit off to the viewer's left side. Because, the two graves.. well the rest are grey, and that's just, random, out there, WHOA hello two red graves. oO; and the red thing, not sure what it is, but, yeah. It kinda draws my eye away from the tree.

Wicked pic! Sooooo much potential! That said, I have this wild idea of what I'd like to do to it: change season from summer to winter, elongate all the shadows and add reduced contrast and mucho reduced brightness and some color to the light, to simulate midnight moonlight, then add lots of gloomy fog settling in places and moving off into infinite murk ... just an idea for a "gothification"...

Very nice.

i think i had three heart attacks while that loaded.. that is so grim and so sexy, i could stare at it all day.. and night and well into the next day...

excuse me while i take any drugs i can find that might thicken my blood so that my heart lulls to a steady beat...

I love how this captures so many different - angles, sort of... look at it one way, and it's as if the tree was the soul of some sort of wild dead person itself... another way and it's just another peaceful grave... another and it's the ancestor of all those in the yard, watching over and protecting them and crying for them.

I really love it. ^_^
