Today's deviation is the first in a series of horror artworks made with the aid of Dall-E Mini, a generative neural network that takes text prompts and generates images from them. I was playing around with the AI when I realized that the distorted nature of the images it produces makes it very amenable to creating horror art, if used in the right way. I thus set out to come up with specially tailored input strings specifically designed to get the AI to generate the most horrifying images possible. I came up with several guidelines for doing so, but the main one is to give the AI inputs that it doesn't know how to process, where there's no way it can possibly render the image properly, without it looking horribly disfigured. For example, the string used to produce the current image was "naked anorexic man with 1000 penises screaming in an abandoned house". The "1000 penises" part serves a special purpose in that it's basically a cheat code for getting the AI to erase all of the character's facial features. Don't ask me why it does that. AI is weird that way. The result is a faceless figure with freakishly long arms and legs screaming. Of course I also did a fair amount of post-processing in GIMP to get the exact effect I wanted.
