For those who are interested, I came up with Chafe a few months before Ralph which would've been some time in the spring of 1989. He started out as a shark boy and then turned into whatever he is today. He's supposed to be Ralph's best friend. The thing on his head is kind of like a rhino horn or and elephant tusk. I think he refers to it as a crest.Related content

Yeah. He & Ralph sort of mirror the relationship between my best friend since 1st grade & myself. The amount of time between their " births " is just an interesting coincidence.
