I think I was allergic to the artificial "surfer dude" talk, for one thing. For another, the wave of obsession about martial arts, ninja and manga caught me when I was well into my 30s. I had known about all that stuff from when *I* was young, in the 1960s, and saw nothing new in it.
But I think it was the ridiculous success of the franchise that bugged me about it. And it wasn't really "furry" at all, though sometimes held up as a successful "furry" comic. The book could have been Mutant Teenage Ninja Jukeboxes or Mutant Teenage Ninja Ninja Garden Gnomes for all that their "turtleness" mattered, and it would have been just the same.

Ah poo, TMNT aren't furries anymore than Bugs Bunny is one. Besides, they live with humans. I think the 2 creators were just screwing around when they created them. I just think they look neat.

I think that's how they spell it in the Nickelodeon show. Aren't those called " The Kraang "? I haven't watched it yet so I dunno.

Ahh. As far as I know, in the original series, Krang was the only member of his species.... of which were originally called the Utron or something.

Yeah, Krang is the character from the 80's cartoon series, the Kraang are from the new one. Essentially, they're some sort of evil version of the Utroms from the original comic book. Which in turn are who Krang is based off of.
Then you get into IDW comic continuity and Krang is an Utrom, but these Utrom are evil as well.
