Description Scale Tail is prolly one of my very favorites of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures. ( I actually bought the figure the day I graduated from high school in 1992.... so, yeah, I was THAT cool ). Fans of this character may notice that I made a rather large change in his appearance; I gave him 2 arms. The toy has one " normal " arm and one comprised of 3 snakes. While cool, I always wanted him to have 2 normal arms so he could be like all the other snake creatures/mutants in his neighborhood ( I'm a conformist that way ). Here's a link to the original action figure if ya'll feel the urge to do some comparisons. Just go there --> www.figurerealm.com/actionfigu…

Oh! Foof has joined the fun too. See?

Oh, yeah!

Nice job giving Scale Tail two arms instead of one arm made up of snakes. I mean, seriously, what purpose did that serve outside of looking badass?
And, he should've made at least one appearance in the 87 cartoon, though. Would've made for a fun Bugs Bunny vs. Elmer Fudd tribute with Scale Tail screwing up in catching the Turtles for the Foot every time.

Thanks. He always needed a 2nd arm. Maybe they'll resurrect him for the new TMNT series.

Never saw this one, as much as I like animal anthropomorphs I am surprised I never got into their entire universe before now.

Yup, I owned the figure too haha! One of the cooler characters in the series imo.

Great work as always!

Oh yessssss....Scale Tail is my favorite toy-only character design. Still don't own his actual toy; eBay prices on his figure have been rather finicky, but I hope to one day have him in my collection. He can go next to my second fave, Roundabout.

Oh no, he's leading an army of snakes. Leonardo's going to have a fit when he sees this. (quick note: Scale Tail should've been in that episode, although I did like the "twist" at the end with the mutant in there)

I think the thing I like the most about this picture is that you made all of his little action figure doohickeys and little design flaws work. Loving the bulletholes in his hood. And he has those unwieldy little guns on his tail but you somehow made them completely functional looking!

He's one of my favorites too but he's also one of the most ... unsatisfying only cuz, like I mentioned, he could've been cooler. But I still loves 'im.

Who's Roundabout?

Leonardo doesn't like snakes? I did not know that.

Thanks for noticing the 'lil details. I'm taking a page from Mattel's " Masters of the Universe Classics " line of action figures. With the new version's of the old figures, they still give them the same funky colored weapons but they give them all these details and paint washes that make them ... relevant. That sort of thing rocks my socks.

Whoops, I misspelled Walkabout's name, but he's the mutant kangaroo from the toy line. He has a boomerang weapon and a little kangaroo buddy named Kid Kangie. Totally cool and hope he's in 2012 TMNT.

Yep, Leonardo doesn't like snakes according to an episode of Season 6. Forget which one, but what was notable about it was the thousands upon thousands of cartoon snakes they drew in that episode and that the city was slowly turning into a hot marshland to make a better place for snakes to live.
Which they later used in a similar plot in Swat Kats, what with the giant snake monster in THAT show.

Oh! Walkabout. He's been on the list of possibilities since I started this crazy turtle series. I may even draw his 'lil friend if I can find colors for him... cuz he's just a piece of orange plastic right now.

Seemed like they always had trouble developing Leo in the original series. I know his voice kinda got a bit whinier after a while.

I used to watch Swat Kats but I was never too keen on the 2nd season.... or the later episodes... cuz I just assumed it had 2 seasons but I could be wrong.

3 other snakes for arms?  Yikes, did they see that Curse II movie, or did they dig King Hiss from He-Man?

I think they just wanted to make him really snakey.

Thanks. Hmm... well... normally these things take... oh... 4, 5 hours. This one kinda took all week. I was drinking when I started it last Sunday and what I wound up with look like it was drawn by a sloppy drunk, ( which was kinda embarrassing ) so, learning that lesson ... again ( and for the last time ), I redrew him sober and then doodled at him all week. I finished him this morning. I was not sure how the sky would work. At first, it was gonna be early, early sunrise but then it turned into night with some sort of light in the foreground. I guess it still could register as being the absolute first crack of dawn.

I wasn't plastered drunk or anything ( my stomach won't let me get that far fortunately ), but I was compromised. So, I think I'm gonna swear off the drinking & drawing unless it just feels like a really good idea. ( Cuz sometimes it can be quite pleasant having a few brews in the wee hours of the morning with the radio on and the house all dark 'cept for my desk light ).

So, errr... normally, these have been taking prolly anywhere between 3 to 6 hours I think. This one took a bit of thought & the before-mentioned re-draw and because it did require a bit more thought... mostly due to figuring out the light source. .

I have been educated.

Really, only 3 to 6 hours? That doesn't seem very long at all.
