That movie has bothered me for decades. I do like that Astrotrain was in it though.

The variation of characters they used in that movie was nice...I'm sure it's not too comfortable to have other Decepticons inside you thoughΒ

What I never liked was that they kill off most of the characters you come to love and replace them with these really bland one. ( They were portrayed blandly in that movie &the following cartoon series anyway ). And in some cases, ya never knew if a character lived or died in the movie cuz they never showed them again. So, it just kinda sucked. Unicron was a cool idea though.
I dunno how Devastor could've fit inside him though.

Yeah they just had that long hallway death scene where they killed off a whole year's worth of figures. Hmm...would you say it was better or worse than the new ones?
I feel like I'm a bit biased since I didn't live back in 1986, so I have an odd nostalgia for it.Β

Oh the new movies? As in CG? Those are... man those are trash. My friend saw the Marky Mark one and said it's just as bad. I learned my lesson after the first 3.
I bought enough of the toys from the 1986 version though. From what I've haerd, there's an awesome comic book series where the " new " Transformers from that movie are well-written. I've been wanting to read the collected books.

I don't think they'd let Michael Bay direct Star Wars however... he'd prolly do a good job on it if he got the chance. He did that movie " Pain and Gain " with Marky Mark & the Rock & the guy that plays the Falcon in Cap'n America. It was good. 
I do have Soundwave. I have a couple of Soundwaves actually. I have a really neat " masterpiece " version I got a few years ago.

Well, for us back then, we didn't have much of a choice when it came to anthropomorphics ... since they did the kiddy cartoon stuff, we had to sort of suffer because often it was hit or miss.Β
