She was sitting on a cubic 3' theatre rehearsal block draped in black felt.  It was draped loosely to avoid sharp edges (makes for easier editing).

The set was covered in black felt. There wasn't much to show. I pushed the blacks in Lightroom a tiny bit. But for the most part, this is just what the camera picked up. If you look really closely, you can see the edge of the box she's sitting on.
