Description Still re-organizing the collection of clothes I have. And I found this outfit that I've rarely used
And don't worry for the fur: we are in Poser's world, which mean it's 100% synthetic (yes: I prefer women naked than wearing real fur)
I'm not satisfied with the hair in closeups, and I'm a n00b at post-processing, so that I'll keep the picture as is...

The portrait: ~7h and the right part: ~5h. But it was a background rendering process. I was working in the mean time. That means that the PC was really occupied

Cool, cool fur effect! Good luck with organizing.  I've been working on that for years.

In fact, it's an excellent exercise... as I'm retrieving some good old treasures. And that helps me building a really better organized "Clothes" runtime, as very often other artists are selling new textures under another name for the existing products. In the end, I was really lost. Imagine that my old Poser7's  "Pose" folder contains not less than 1930 folders and ~105'000 files, with many products having many Pose and Material corresponding folders...

... abd thaks for your kind comment

You are welcome!
I threw all of my old poser stuff (A3V3M3, etc) into one huge folder plus a lot is on discs.  I can always do a name search and find what I'm looking for if I want to conform to a new figure or work on an old character.  V4 or Generation 4 figures is what I'm organizing and currently working with.  The ridiculous amount of stuff I have is on two T-byte external Hard drives (that I pray will never die).  The sad truth is that I own all of the new Genesis figures but since I'm still organizing Generation 4 figures I haven't even wanted to start a whole new project or play with the upgrades. I'm wondering how I should organize the new figures so I can play with them too. To be honest, I was so overwhelmed by it all that I backed off of rendering which is why I've been inconsistent with posting this summer.  It all began when I bought the same product twice from two different stores by mistake.  That upset me and makes me pay more attention to my files (and budget).  Have you noticed that Daz is cranking out so many things that it's impossible to keep up?! My favorite store is Renderosity because they have a steady and moderate pace and they understand that we haven't decided to abandon the generation 3 and 4 figures just yet.
Sorry for the rant...but good luck with your files!

I love Renderosity, as they know what you've already bought and they tell it to you at the moment you add the item to the basket, whereas Daz doesn't mind a single second...

Trust me: have a duplicate of all your files + runtimes! *ken1171 has lost so much stuff with a hard disk failure, not long ago...

UPDATE (2013/08/28): Today I've received a note that the computer part I was waiting for has arrived. The date on the note shows it had actually arrived a week ago, but they only decided to let me know today. I will go get it at the post office by tomorrow, and once my computer is working again, I can start reinstalling everything back into it, starting with Windows.
After trying several methods, all I could recover were about 7 files from the entire 4 partitions in this 2TB drive. Lesson learned: no more partitioning a huge drive. It's better to have each thing on its own physical hard drive. I had data corruption in only ONE of the partitions, but next time I accessed the drive, all 4 partitions became unreadable. Lost Windows, my entire 300GB Poser runtime, and all of my work projects between 2012-2013. That means all of my games source codes, my original music, and my original 3D models from the l

Yes, I had already seen his journal which is why I made that comment.   Plus my cousin's hard drive just died too and he is very sad.  Thinking about buying another one just as backup.

This render is especially well done!!!  I love level of realism that you have achieved here!!!  Had you not mentioned the issue with the hair I would have missed any problem altogether!!!  Now that you have brought it to my attention, the only only thing at issue is volume.  In the close-up her hair is indeed too thin, as you can see her scalp!!!  The other image isn't that bad as the hair goes, but you can also tell that the hair is thin just at the very top.  So all in all an awesome render notwithstanding the little hair issue!!!

Phyl-CGI In reply to Blsdesq [2013-09-20 09:52:44 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much for the great comment

I think that I shouldn't have put some height to the top back of the hair prop, to avoid that weird effect. Never mind: only a few hair props supports close-ups

You're very welcome!!!  I wouldn't worry too much about the hair issue.  It's really only most noticeable in a close-up shot.  Keep working at it and you get it perfected!!!

I recently bought a plugin for fur in DAZ but Poser does it well already.

Anyway, hot girl & good framing!

I don't know how the fur looks like with the plugin, but with this cloth, it looks like numerous rectangles with transmaps:  as you can see. Does the plugin function as hair?

By the way, thanks for your kind comment

You're welcome.

Yes the plugin does function as hair.

The creation window is a little complicated but you can use presets too: www.daz3d.com/look-at-my-hair

I have just done a small test with the same dress, in this picture:

It's using Bagginsbill's experiments with his great  Mathmatic tool. It's far from the hair-like appearance... I have to experiment further...
