You can try by changing the extension to something that will work with your version like .abr with mine. I hope this helps

how do you change that? i've been wondering if you could change that for awhile (just got photoshop 7 and all the brushes i find that i like are higher )

Firts, see which extension you have to have to use the brushes. Then you should be able to change the extension by just modifing the file's extension for example: if a file says "abstract_brushes.VVR", for example then you change it for "abstract_brushes.abr" or "abstract_brushes.ABR" (in my case). I tried it for my version (CS2) and worked. Try it out with your version and it should be fine.

well the file is .abr and all the other ones i have in my brushes are .abr but this one says its not compatible with this version of photoshop. its happened to me with other brushes too, usually i just make the brushes from an image pack if i can get one.

Well I don't know what to say now this never happened to me but certainly something willl hapen as usual with Photoshop and other programs. Are u placing the files in the right folder? (I know it sounds too easy but just in case). Try placing it in a different folder to see what happens. I'm sorry I couldn't help that much but you will find a solution soon. Could also be the file that is not correct.
